On Tuesday 15 March the ‘Oaklands School Swimming Team’ competed in the SW Zone Championships at Wharenui Pool.

Well Done to all of the children who raced in these 50m races. He were our most notable results:

Individual Races

Campbell Buck: 2nd 10 yrs Freestyle, 2nd 10 yrs Backstroke

Logan Cust: 1st 11 yrs Freestyle, 2nd Open Butterfly

Samantha Woodgate: 3rd 11yrs Freestyle

Jack Simpson: 3rd 9 yrs Backstroke

Maddy Laing: 2nd 9 yrs Backstroke

Ashley White: 2nd 10 yrs Backstroke

Samantha Laing: 3rd 11 yrs Backstroke, 1st 11 yrs Breaststroke

Victor Song: 2nd 12 yrs Breaststroke

Samara Barltrop: 3rd 12 yrs Breaststroke

Mixed Relays

9yrs = 5th

10yrs = 3rd

11yrs = 2nd

12yrs = 3rd

The children who placed in the top 3, in individual events have now qualified for the Canterbury Swimming Championships at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre on Thursday 7 April. Further information will come to those students.

Kauri Run / Bike / Run

The Kauri Run / Bike / Run takes place on Monday 21st March at Halswell Domain.

Students can enter as an individual or as part of a team.

We will be walking down at 10:00am, returning by 1:30pm for the whole school assembly.
